Hello, I’m Marcus Aiken from Stockbridge, Georgia. As a graphic designer, my goal is to help businesses build their brand in cool and unique ways. My fascination with sports logos is what first drew me to graphic design—whether they’re complex or simple, they have a powerful impact on their fanbases. I also enjoyed creating and editing sports mixtapes, which further sparked my interest in visual storytelling.
I grew up playing soccer, basketball, and running track and cross country, which taught me the importance of teamwork. I also spent a lot of time drawing, gaming, and building with LEGOs—activities that helped me develop a strong eye for detail and creativity. At one point, I even considered a career in mechanical engineering or architecture, but my dislike for math steered me toward design instead.
Attending Georgia Southern University gave me the skills and knowledge I needed to thrive as a graphic designer. It also taught me how to think creatively and solve problems in innovative ways. My business name, “maiken graphics,” is a play on the pronunciation of my first initial and last name—it sounds like you’re saying “making graphics.”
